Speaking Tomorrow Night
Speaking tomorrow night at a youth event….still haven’t been insulted or slandered or persecuted for what I preach or how I live…”for this is how they treated all of God’s prophets” and “you are not greater than your master, if they persecuted me they will persecute you” is ringing in my heart. Pray that I would speak the fullness of this Gospel not just the pleasing parts but the “carry your (unpleasant death) and follow Me” parts, in this is the meat of this Kingdom, a people who are not about their name but His.
Note: This is not me asking for persecution but rather, reflecting on the fact that when this Gospel has been preached in the past it is met with stiff opposition and often persecution. Makes me wonder if I am speaking the Gospel fully when I have not yet met opposition. Some would say rejoice…but Jesus said to worry when people flatter you and praise you for what you say because that is how they treated the FALSE prophets…the true prophets weren’t met with such fanfare neither was Jesus himself.
